1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing or using BakeLedger AI ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
2. Description of the Service
BakeLedger AI is a business tool for bakers that provides recipe costing, inventory management, customer records, pricing suggestions, analytics and document generation (such as invoices and quotes). The App works offline and stores your data on your device; the optional AI co-pilot described in section 4 is the one feature that sends anything elsewhere, and only with your permission.
3. Your Data & Responsibility
- All data you enter is stored locally on your device, apart from what the AI co-pilot sends when you switch it on (section 4). You are responsible for maintaining backups of your data.
- We are not able to access, restore or recover data lost through device loss, damage, uninstalling the App or software errors.
- You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter and the documents you generate and share.
4. The AI Co-pilot
The App includes an optional AI co-pilot. By default it answers using an engine that runs entirely on your device, and nothing is transmitted.
You may choose to turn on cloud answers. If you do, your question and a set of recipe, costing and business figures calculated by the App are sent — through a relay server we operate — to Hangzhou DeepSeek Artificial Intelligence Co., Ltd. ("DeepSeek"), which processes them on its servers in China to generate the reply. The App shows you exactly what is sent and asks your permission before this happens for the first time, and you can withdraw that permission at any time in Settings → AI co-pilot & privacy. Section 4 of our Privacy Policy sets out the full detail, and DeepSeek's own privacy policy governs its handling of what it receives.
You agree that you will not type into the co-pilot any personal data about your customers or other people, or any confidential information you are not free to share, and that you are responsible for the content of the questions you send.
AI-generated answers can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Check anything that matters before you act on it.
5. No Professional Advice
Pricing suggestions, cost calculations, analytics and any AI-generated insights are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute financial, tax, legal or accounting advice. You are solely responsible for your business decisions, pricing and compliance with applicable laws, including food safety and tax regulations.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose;
- Reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract the source code of the App;
- Copy, modify, distribute or resell the App or any part of it;
- Use the App to create documents that are fraudulent or misleading.
7. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, branding, features and content (excluding the data you create), is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the App for your business.
You retain full ownership of the data, recipes and documents you create in the App.
8. Purchases & Subscriptions
If the App offers paid features or subscriptions, payment is processed by the app store from which you downloaded the App (Apple App Store or Google Play). Billing, renewals, cancellations and refunds are governed by that store's terms. Manage or cancel subscriptions through your app store account settings.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations, or uninterrupted, error-free operation.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the App.
11. Changes to the App or Terms
We may update, modify or discontinue features of the App at any time. We may also revise these terms; the "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
12. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate access to the App if you breach these terms.
